AZORES PHOTO TOUR
July 11-19, 2026

By Michael Chinnici

The idea had been simmering for months—where would PWA (Photo Workshop Adventures) take photographers next? We had already led unforgettable journeys to some of the world’s most breathtaking destinations, but we were always on the lookout for the next hidden gem.

We wanted a place rich in natural beauty, dramatic light, and diverse scenery—somewhere that would challenge and inspire both seasoned photographers and newcomers alike.

That’s when the Azores called to us.

At first, it was just a name on a list of possibilities. But the more we researched, the more we realized this Portuguese archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic was something special.

Volcanic landscapes, lush green pastures, misty crater lakes, dramatic coastlines, and charming villages—each island offered its own unique flavor of magic. It was a photographer’s paradise waiting to be explored.

Why the Azores?

The Azores offered everything a photographer could want—drama, beauty, variety, and an ever-changing light that made every moment feel like a fresh opportunity.

As we finalized the itinerary for PWA’s newest tour, we could already picture it: a group of passionate photographers standing at the edge of a volcanic crater, cameras in hand, ready to capture the breathtaking landscape before them.

The Azores weren’t just a destination; they were an adventure waiting to be documented. And we couldn’t wait to share it.
