Lopamudra Talukdar Photo Workshop Adventures Bw Sq 600

Bringing Lopamudra Talukdar to PWA has been several years in the making, and we couldn’t be more excited! When we were first introduced to Lopa, she was described as “salt of the earth”, and it couldn’t be more true. Lopamudra’s addition to the team will give us more depth and breath, and another smiling face. Her global travels and experience are extraordinary, as are her excellent photography skills.

Lopamudra is based out of India, but she is a world traveller. She is an educator and has led international workshops, mentored participants for Canon India and is presently a Fujifilm X-mentor. Her work has been widely exhibited and published.

Whether it is understanding the vanishing cultures of the world, documenting nomadic tribes and their lifestyle, or simply capturing candid split-second moments on the streets, it is the human condition and Lopamudra’s instinctive ability to visually tell a story that stands out as a pervasive theme.

Her recent projects include documenting disappearing traditions in her native India, chronicling life in fast-changing Cuba, portraying the realities of different LGBT communities around the globe, documenting rural life in Romania, capturing the essence and meaning of Faith, among others. She has also covered the FIFA World Cup Soccer in Russia representing an Indian newspaper, worked on assignments for the National Geographic Traveller, has contributed to various travel, flight and photography magazines. Most recently she received a photography grant for her documentary work.

Lopamudra first tours will include several in her native India, as well as Romania, Russia, Cuba, and elsewhere in Asia and Europe. Please click here to view Lopamudra’s portfolio.
