MICHAEL SINCLAIR
PHOTOGRAPHY ENTHUSIAST
CANADA
Sir Sinclair, or Sir Michael is what we like to call this gentleman. And a gentleman he is, in every way. We had the pleasure of first meeting Michael in Cinque Terre, Italy where we enjoyed a wonderful time photographing its stunning rugged coastline. Michael had a fairly good working knowledge of the camera even though photography was relatively new to him. We were impressed with his quick grasp of the complexities behind capturing a great image, and his deep desire to learn and improve quickly. By the time he arrived in Iceland over a year later, Michael had improved immensely as seen in his photos. We are proud of Michael’s achievements with photography and his involvement with his local photography club. And lastly, we are very excited to be hosting Michael again this spring in Morocco. Keep up the great work Sir Sinclair!

This photo was taken in historic Genoa, Italy on Sept 9, 2013 at the beginning of my first Photo Workshop Adventure. As Michael took us through this maze of ancient narrow streets, I looked up and was blown away with this composition. Hope you all like it. A new beginning for me, as this was the start of photography for me. (see more photos below)
ABOUT MICHAEL
I was born and raised in Vancouver BC, Canada, one of the most beautiful and best places to live in the world, and continue to live my life here. My life was all about building…construction of buildings, furniture, luxury yachts and memories. As someone who has taken pictures since I was a young man, I decided I needed a hobby that would keep me interested as I chart my course to retirement. Photography has always piqued my interest so it was time to see what I could create.
A CONVERSATION WITH MICHAEL
Why did you choose Photo Workshop Adventures?
Having made the decision to pursue photography as a serious hobby, I searched for workshops to give me guidance. When I found PWA’s and saw all the workshops available, I found what I was looking for and knew these would be the first steps on my photography journey. I chose Cinque Terre for my first workshop, because of the beauty of the area and the unique architecture. Everything seems to be hanging on for dear life. Since, I have had the wonderful pleasure of attending their amazing Iceland Photo Adventure.
What did you enjoy most about the adventure?
Camaraderie, fun, helpful. They took the time to assist me with whatever I required. A hint here, maybe shift a little there. Always trying to make the experience more enjoyable. Cinque Terre was an amazing place to visit. So much history and beauty around every corner. Michael was such a warm, knowledgeable and fun person to be with. He was able to get us to the best places at the best times. The same with Tim in Iceland. Two knowledgeable, interesting and fun guys to hang out with.
What do you enjoy most about photography?
The ability to capture my world about me. Every time I look at one of my photos it rekindles the emotions and sense of being there. I enjoy landscapes, architecture, flowers, sunrise & sunset the most.
What are your goals and ambitions as a photographer?
I’m now going down a path of discovery that I hope to share with as many people as possible. I recently became a member of CAPA (the Canadian Association of Photographic Art). They provide many opportunities to show photos in competitions, provide education so I can gain experience in all aspects of photography. I have been building a portfolio on Flickr and soon will have my 100,000th viewer.
