The natural wonders of the North Oregon Coast.
The North Oregon Coast is a treasure for landscape photographers, where it’s still possible to encounter untouched natural beauty that stretches the imagination. Here unique sights of shipwrecks, waterfalls, magical bridges and octopus trees await you, together with dramatic rock formations and exquisite views of the coastline. We will lead you to the best locations to discover all its secrets.
Our 5-day small group photography tour will explore the colorful sea wildlife of the rocky shores, puffins nesting on Haystack Rocks and working harbors along the coast. We will capture a double waterfall and the Portland Japanese Garden in morning light, the very photogenic St. Johns Bridge and the sunset at Haystack Rock. A visit to the Astoria Bridge – the longest continuous truss bridge in North America – and the Astoria Column will allow us to enjoy the breathtaking view of the mouth of the Columbia River. We will see the giant trees of the coastal old-growth forest after an easy hike to Short Sands Beach and observe harbor scenes against old piers and weathered warehouses.
This adventure is designed not only to guide you to the most photogenic locations carefully planned for the best light, but to aid you in mentally visualizing a scene before capturing the decisive moment. Our aim is to raise your awareness and spark your creativity so that you not only go home with images to be proud of, but use your new found skills to improve and expand your photographic technique in general. Apart from the technical aspect of learning your camera settings and capabilities, you will learn how to turn an ordinary image into an extraordinary image by using your own creativity.
In addition, you will become knowledgeable on how to survey the landscape and best approach the environment. Our time together will include individual and group discussions, inspiring ideas and great fun.
We cannot think of a better location to express your creativity, join us on the stunning Oregon coast.
