Photograph the most prestigious race in motorsports... the 24 hours of Le Mans.

24 Hours of Le Mans Photo Adventure Vacations – Inspire, Create and Learn.

Le Mans is a truly unique city and the home of the world-famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race, which was first held in 1923. This true test of endurance is held each year at the Circuit de la Sarthe, a track mainly made up of closed public roads around Le Mans. This event is clearly the pinnacle of motorsport endurance racing and attracts such marquees as Audi, Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Nissan, Toyota, Corvette and BMW. But Le Mans has more to offer beyond it’s legendary motorsports history. The old city of Le Mans is especially appealing and features ancient Roman walls, a true labyrinth of winding alleyways and many old buildings which are full of character. And outside the city, you will find the inviting and majestic French countryside.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is visited by racing fans from around the globe, as well as locals. Until now, only very expensive VIP packages have been available and none offering a focus on the passion of Motorsports Photography such as ours. We are proud to bring you this unique opportunity. We also include several days of landscape photography throughout the Loire Valley and Mont Saint-Michel.

This adventure is designed not only to guide you to best available trackside locations, but to instruct you on how to shoot exciting motorsports photography. Our aim is to raise your awareness and spark your creativity so that you not only go home with images to be proud of, but use your new found skills to improve and expand your photographic technique in general. Apart from the technical aspect of learning your camera settings and capabilities, you will learn how to turn an ordinary image into an extraordinary image by using your own creativity.

Our time together will include individual and group discussions, inspiring ideas and great fun. We cannot think of a better location to express your creativity and learn about motorsports photography than the excitement and beauty of Le Mans!

*All prices are per person and based on double occupancy. Please select single occupancy for a private room. We typically stay in hotels in the 4-star category. Due to the nature of a motorsports event weekend such as the once-a-year 24 Hours of Le Mans race, hotel availability can be extremely limited. Race teams, automotive manufacturers and press organizations have long standing agreements with hotel properties years in advance. We make every effort to book hotels or villas within one hour of the race circuit. The race tickets that are included provide our guests with start/finish grandstand seating, PitWalk access when available and pre-race access to the circuit. These are not professional photographer press passes. Access is limited. Included in an annual membership to the ACO auto club and the benefits that come with the ACO membership. Breakfast is included only if included in our room rates.

We suggest arriving one or two days early in Paris. You can book early arrival rooms with us.

Monday (1)  Paris - Le Mans

On Monday morning we will pick you up at the Le Mans train station to begin our adventure (train information will be provided for your Paris to Le Mans transportation). During lunch we will have informal discussions on what our guests are trying to achieve in their photography, subject matters, styles and techniques. From here we will make out way to the village square to view and photograph the race cars on display. This is a great chance to study the cars and get some really nice closeup images of the cars in pristine condition. Afterwards we’ll explore Le Mans before heading to our hotel to check-in. In the evening we will relax and celebrate with our “Welcome Dinner” at one of our favorite French restaurants. (D)

Tuesday (2)  Mont Saint-Michel Castle

With Tuesday set aside for the teams to settle into the paddock and prepare their cars for the race, it’s a perfect day for a road trip. After breakfast we depart for the famous Mont Saint-Michel Castle, an island commune in Normandy, France. It is located about 2 hours from our hotel off the country's northwestern coast, at the mouth of the Couesnon River near Avranches. One of France's most recognizable landmarks, Mont Saint-Michel and its bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and more than 3 million people visit it each year. This 247 acre (100 ha) island has a population of only 44. The island has held strategic fortifications since ancient times, and since the eighth century AD has been the seat of the monastery from which it draws its name. The structural composition of the town exemplifies the feudal society that constructed it. On top God, the abbey and monastery, below this the Great halls, then stores and housing, and at the bottom, outside the walls, fishermen and farmers' housing. After an amazing day of photography we return to Le Mans for a well deserved rest, and prepare for our early morning departure for the race circuit. (B)

On Wednesday morning we depart very early for Le Mans - Circuit de la Sarthe to make good use of our PITWALK Passes. Here we can walk the pit lane to check and photograph the cars, teams and garages while they prepare for practice and qualifying. Having worked all night, the teams will be in full swing preparing the cars. After an afternoon break, we return to the circuit for the 4 PM to 8 PM Free Practice Session. This will be excellent as we will have access to all the grandstands, allowing us the opportunity to capture and enjoy the speed of the cars from many different vantage points. With the sun setting in the late evening, it’s the perfect to to capture our first night photography during the 10 PM to 12 AM Night Qualifying Practice Session. (B)

(B)
